I LOVE THIS PIECE I DID...
SHE WAS SITTING IN THE
GARAGE FOR A YEAR JUST WAITING
TO BE LET OUT!
I USED MY DIY CHALK PAINT
RECEIPE AS I HAVE ON SEVERAL PIECES
AND I DID NOT SAND OR PRIME-EXCEPT
FOR THE IVY LEAVES AS THEY WERE
RAISED UP AND WOULD HAVE SHOWN THROUGH-
RECEIPE AS I HAVE ON SEVERAL PIECES
AND I DID NOT SAND OR PRIME-EXCEPT
FOR THE IVY LEAVES AS THEY WERE
RAISED UP AND WOULD HAVE SHOWN THROUGH-
ALL I DID WAS CLEAN HER UP!
I USED 2 COATS OF MY DIY MIXTURE
TO GET THE COVERAGE.
TO GET THE COVERAGE.
BE SURE TO MIX THE PAINT AND CALCIUM
CARBONATE UP WELL TO AVOID ANY LITTLE
WHITE CLUMPS ENDING UP ON THE PIECE.
OVERALL THE PIECE DRIED VERY QUICKLY
AND THE FINISH LOOKS FANTASTIC, I
DID USE A REALLY GOOD BRUSH ON THIS
PIECE AND IT MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE
IN THE FINISH.
I THINK ITS VERY COMPARABLE TO
ANNE SLONE PAINT, MAYBE NOT
AS SMOOTH IN THE
BOWL BUT AFTER ITS PAINTED
IT'S VERY SIMILAIR.
YOU CAN EVEN GIVE IT A LIGHT
SANDING IF YOU
WANT. I FINISHED THE PIECE WITH
SOME STAIN TO ANTIQUE AND WAX.
DISTRESSED IT UP A BIT AND STAINED THE
INSIDE A DARKER COLOR.
HERE SHE IS IN THE
BEGINNING WHEN I FOUND HER...
It looks stunning, Lauren! I love the color and the contrast with the darker interior - perfect cabinet to display anything, but the cameras look awesome in there - and the pooch is pretty darn cute too!
