DEVIL VS ANGEL VINTAGE DIY CHALK PAINT REDO

OK, OK I CAN'T
TAKE IT ANYMORE!

  THIS WAS MY SOLUTION...

THIS IS THE PIECE
I STARTED WITH

PLAIN JANE BOOKCASE WITH CUTE
LITTLE STUBBY LEGS!

THE PAINT I USED WAS A DIY
CHALK PAINT RECIPE
OF UNSANDED GROUT AND
LATEX PAINT. I MIXED ABOUT
5 TSP. IN WITH THE SAMPLE
JAR OF PAINT.

I HAVE ALSO DONE A PIECE WITH
THE CALCIUM CARBONATE WHICH I
WILL BE POSTING NEXT
PROJECT!

PICTURES OF MY PROCESS...

THIS PAINT TURNED A LITTLE
BIT THICKER THAN THE
CALCIUM CARBONITE RECIPE
BUT IT BRUSHED ON FINE
AND ANY LITTLE CLUMPS WENT
AWAY WHEN BRUSHING.BUT
AFTER A LITTLE WHILE THE
PAINT WAS TOO THICK

TO THICK TO QUICK....

HERE SHE IS READY FOR
THE RED CARPET...

SORRY ABOUT ALL THE
PICTURES BUT I LOVE
A GOOD PHOTO SHOOT!

Do ya like her!

  1. Fabulous! I love the richness, and tthe white stripe makes it just a little bit different. I have been using plaster of paris in my chalk paint, but am thinking about experimenting with the others, too.

  2. Turned out great! Love the vingette you've created too.
I've tried making my own chalk paint but found it to be so thick. I like how looks but it's a hassle to make.

  16. This looks so pretty! The red is fantastic - I tried making the chalk paint with the grout and paint and didn't like it at all. I didn't like the little bumps from the grout -- does your paint have those? Do you/did you sand them out? Just curious :)
