IF I COULD SAVE TIME IN A CLOCHE

IVE BEEN SEEING ALOT OF THESE CUTE LITTLE DISPLAYS IN
BLOGVILLE. NEVER KNEW THAT THEY ARE CALLED A CLOCHE..
LEARN SOMETHING NEW EVERY DAY.
I HAD TO HAVE ONE.
cloche  
–noun a bell-shaped metal or glass cover placed over a plate or stand.

i went to my favorite thrift store and stumbled across this for $2.98


WHEN I GOT HOME I REMEMBERED I HAD THIS CANDLESTICK THAT I ALMOST GAVE AWAY.


USED GORILLA GLUE TO FASTEN THE TWO TOGETHER


 SO A LITTLE PRIMER, PAINT, STAIN, LUCK AND ABOUT 15 MIN LATER









I HAVE ANOTHER CANDLESTICK THE SAME AS
THIS ONE MAYBE ILL GET LUCKY ONE MORE TIME.

  4. My favorite part of this is that you just came home and did it! I have every part of this project I picked up about 2 weeks ago with the same thing in mind and haven't gotten to any of it yet!! Awesome job and I love your paint color!

  7. Thanks for the reply of support! And, yes, I absolutely have my free sample from Valspar! Mine's some kind of turquoisy color that I have yet to open! Soon, fo sure.

  10. thank laina for the nice comments.
    first i sanded it all, primed it,
    painted the lighter blue color and then dry brushed on a little different teal color. distressed it by sanding and antiqued it with dark walnut stain. then i applied a paste wax to protect it..

  15. That looks great, Lauren! I went thrifting this week and came up empty-handed:( Maybe next Monday, after everyone starts their spring cleaning, the thrift stores around these parts will get some new inventory. Keep up the fab revamps!

  23. I have always wanted a cloche, and I love this idea. I never thought of using a cheese server, which I think yours is. Can't wait to check out the thrift shop, as I know I have seen these before at my favorite store.

    I still have a cloche and candlestick waiting to be officially joined and painted. lol I used them this fall and just sat the cloche on top and made sure to be careful to not knock it over! Hopefully, I will finally get to this project! lol
