MISS GREY THE LIBRARIAN

I PICKED UP THIS LIBRARY BOOKCASE
OFF OF CRAIGS LIST THE OTHER DAY AND
DECIDED TO DO A COLOR THAT I
HAVE NEVER DONE.

GREY !!!

WELL I LOVE THE COLOR AND
IM GLAD I DECIDED TO USE
IT FOR HER.

HERE IS WHAT SHE
LOOKED LIKE WHEN I PICKED HER UP
I LOVED THE BEVELED GLASS AND THE STYLE OF HER.I WASN'T CRAZY ABOUT THE BRASS WITH THE
GLASS OR THE WOOD COLOR.

SO I GOT HOME FROM WORK TODAY AND
GOT A SUDDEN BURST OF ENERGY..
AND SO IT CAME TO BE-
MISS GREY THE LIBRARIAN..

LOVE THE GREY NOW I JUST NEED A LIBRARY TO
PUT HER IN !!!

Great gray, Lauren! It looks much better. I notice you did something to the top glass portion too that got rid of the brass. Did you just use paint or some Rub N Buff?

  15. I really like that shade of grey. It's perfect. So you used rub and buff on the wood part? It looks like it was meant to be that way.

    ReplyDelete
  16. i painted the brass part around the glass with paint and then used rub-n-buff in patina color to create a more weathered metal look.

  45. Can I ask what you used to color the brass on Miss Grey? Did you use a spray nickel? I have my grandma's old china cab and I really want to do something to it. My mom is going to kill me, but it is a 70's cab and I'm looking for ideas. it has brass lines on the glass. I want to keep the piece, but I want to like it, too. andrea @ townandprairie
