LOVE WHAT YOU DO MANTLE !!!

THIS PIECE WAS ACTUALLY GIVIN' TO ME AS THE
PERSON WAS MOVING AND SHE HAD NEVER DONE ANYTHING WITH IT AND COULD'NT TAKE IT WITH HER.

ITS A VERY OLD MANTLE THAT'S
ABOUT 7 FEET LONG AND WEIGHS OVER
100 POUNDS EASILY.
IT WAS IN PRETTY ROUGH SHAPE AND PART OF THE TRIM ON
THE FRONT HAD BEEN RIPPED OFF.

SO I REMOVED THE WHOLE PIECE OF TRIM WENT TO LOWES AND GOT SOMETHING SIMILIAR
AND REPLACED IT

I WANTED TO KEEP AN OLD RUSTIC LOOK TO
IT SO WHEN I SANDED IT I DID NOT REMOVE
ALL THE WHITE CHIPPY PAINT THAT WAS ON IT.
I LEFT IT..
I ALSO PAINTED IT WITH GREY AND DRY
BRUSHED ON LIGHT BLUE AND MORE WHITE.
THEN I ADDED WOOD STAIN TO DARKEN IT UP
A BIT AND ADD TO THE AGED LOOK.
I HAD TO PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO THE
NEWLY ADDED WOOD TRIM TO MAKE SURE
THE PIECE ALL BLENDED IN.

I HUNG THIS IN THE UPSTAIRS OFFICE,
ABOVE MY DESK.
IT ADDS SO MUCH CHARACTER TO THE
ROOM AND I HAD SO MUCH FUN PUTTING
ACCESSORIES ON IT.

I FIGURED THAT ON HOLIDAYS I CAN DECORATE
IT DIFFERENTLY!!!

I CALL IT THE LOVE WHAT YOU DO MANTLE
BECAUSE THATS WHAT I WAS THINKING ABOUT
AS I WAS DOING THIS PIECE THAT I LOVE
REDOING FURNITURE.
IT WOULD BE NICE IF EVERYONE COULD LOVE
WHAT THEY DO OR AT LEAST HAVE A HOBBY
THAT YOU LOVE TO DO!!!
IT REALLY ADDS ALOT TO YOUR LIFE WHEN
YOU CAN FIND THAT SOMETHING.

OK , ENOUGH TALK I'M SURE YOU
WANT TO SEE THE PIECE.

HERE SHE IS AFTER.
SHES REALLY LONG SO HARD TO GET PICTURES...

I HOPE YOU LOVE HER
AS MUCH AS I DO...

AND HOPE YOU DIDN'T MIND
SO MANY PICTURES I COULD'T
HELP MYSELF...
