I HAD ACTUALLY FINISHED THIS PROJECT A LITTLE WHILE BACK BUT I HAD NOT HUNG IT UP YET.
AND I ACTUALLY GOT AROUND
TO DOING IT TODAY.
I STARTED OUT WITH THIS
OLD HEADBOARD THAT I PICKED
UP AT A THRIFT STORE..
BEFORE...
I LOVED THE DETAIL AND THE
CARVED LOOK IT HAD TO IT.
BUT DID NOT WANT TO USE
IT FOR MY BED...
SO I CUT OFF THE LEGS...
USED A JIGSAW FOR THIS
I LOVE BEING ABLE TO USE
SOMETHING FOR A DIFFERENT
PURPOSE OTHER THAN WHAT IT
WAS INTENDED FOR..
WITH A LITTLE PAINT AND
SOME NICKEL HARDWARE
ADDED TO THE FRONT TO
HOLD COATS AND HATS AND WHATEVER
YOU WANT TO HANG ON IT, THIS
IS WHAT I ENDED UP WITH.
AFTER...
I HUNG IT IN MY ENTRY WAY AND
IM GLAD IT MATCHED WITH THE
SAME FEELING AS THE PIECES I
ALREADY HAD HANGING UP.
IF YOU LOOK CLOSE YOU'LL
NOTICE THE LITTLE HEARTS IN
THE CARVING WHICH I THOUGHT WAS
SUPER CUTE AND DIDN'T
NOTICE UNTIL I WAS WORKING WITH THE PIECE...
I LOVE HOW IT TURNED OUT!
I HOPE YOU LIKE IT TOO.
WOW! It's perfect for that space, and really beautiful! Love it, great job.

ReplyDeleteThat is really awesome! I love the new purpose it has now & it's a beautiful piece, too. I'll definitely be keeping my eye out now. ;)
ReplyDeleteNice job. I was expecting to see the hooks down on the flap board but you surprised me. That turned out great.
ReplyDeleteThanks Pam, you know i never thought of putting them on the flap that would have been a good idea too!

What an interesting use for an antique headboard! Most people wouldn't think to turn it into a coat rack, but the idea worked out wonderfully!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much for keep this information. connect headboard to wall
