TRAIN STATION SAVE - BEFORE AND AFTER !

THIS TRAIN STATION SAVE WAS FOUND BY THE SIDE OF THE ROAD BY MY HUSBAND, WHEN HE GOT OFF THE TRAIN, HE LOADED IT IN THE BACK
OF HIS TRUCK AND BROUGHT IT HOME
TO ME. IT WAS SITTING IN MY GARAGE ALL WINTER AND I FINALLY
GOT THE CHANCE TO GET HER DONE!
I FINALLY GOT A PROJECT DONE.
HURRAY!!!!!
THIS IS WHAT IT LOOKED LIKE...
I STARTED SANDING IT.

THE KNUCKLES WERE PRETTY BEAT UP SO I DECIDED TO
GO WITH A DISTRESSED LOOK!
THIS PIC. I STARTED TO APPLY
MY PAINT WHICH WAS A LIGHT TAN.

AFTER A HOUR THIS IS WHAT I MANAGED TO ACCOMPLISH...

AFTER...

I USED THE DRY-BUSHED TECHNIQUE AND ANTIQUED IT WITH WOOD STAIN
THEN USED DARK WAX TO PROTECT
IT. ON THE TOP I SANDED IT
AND USED POLYSHADES BY MINWAX
AND ALSO USED A DARK WAX ON THE
TOP FOR ADDED PROTECTION.

I LOVE THE LEGS AND THE CLAW
FEET ON THE TABLE!
IM SO GLAD HE TOOK THE TRAIN
THAT DAY AND THOUGHT OF ME!

  9. I have this table ... at least it looks very close to being the same. We bought ours about 14 yrs ago & it's a cherry wood table/finish. I'm currently storing it. I don't have a place to use it, but I don't want to sell it either. Great job on the make-over.
