WHY MISS HELIX?
WELL HERE'S THE SCOOP..
I SAW THIS PICTURE ONLINE
AND I WAS INSPIRED BY THE COLORS...
THIS IS ACTUALLY A HELIX NEBULA
AFTER I DID A LITTLE RESEARCH I LEARNED THAT
THEY CALL THIS THE EYE OF GOD.
IT'S CAUSED BY COMETS KICKING UP DUST
AROUND A STAR THAT HAS DIED.
LOOK AT THAT !!!
WE LEARN SOMETHING NEW
EVERY DAY...
ANYWAY I LOVED THESE COLORS TOGETHER.
WHEN I PAINTED THIS PIECE I STARTED
WITH RED AND THEN DID THE TEAL COLOR OVER
IT AND DISTRESSED THE RED THROUGH..
HERE IS MISS HELIX BEFORE..
SHES THE PIECE I FOUND AT THE ESTATE SALE
AND HERE SHE IS AFTER...
HOPE YOU LIKE HER!!!
beautiful!

ReplyDeleteAwesome! I came to visit your blog and got lost in it for an hour or so last night! I love your posts.
ReplyDeleteShe is just beautiful! And this is coming from a "purist" meaning, I tend to like plain wood... I am beginning to change. While the lawyer's bookcases, curved glass cabinet, and a couple of other of my dad's nicer cabinets, which I grew up with, will probably always remain wood... Pretty much everything else in my house is now open for negotiation...and I am subscribing to your blog, to learn a bit about color from you. Your restorations are a cut above most. I just LOVE the blue you used on Miss Helix, and with the black, AWESOME.

ReplyDeleteThe colors are spot on! What a great new look, I love it. (And love your inspiration, too!) You probably don't need another Tuesday party but if you're game I'd love to have you over at my new Tuesday Club G.W. with Charm Bracelet Diva Party. Hope to see you there!
