HEADBOARD TO COAT RACK DIY !

I HAD ACTUALLY FINISHED THIS PROJECT A LITTLE WHILE BACK BUT I HAD NOT HUNG IT UP YET.
AND I ACTUALLY GOT AROUND
TO DOING IT TODAY.

I STARTED OUT WITH THIS
OLD HEADBOARD THAT I PICKED
UP AT A THRIFT STORE..
BEFORE...

I LOVED THE DETAIL AND THE
CARVED LOOK IT HAD TO IT.
BUT DID NOT WANT TO USE
IT FOR MY BED...

SO I CUT OFF THE LEGS...

USED A JIGSAW FOR THIS

I LOVE BEING ABLE TO USE
SOMETHING FOR A DIFFERENT
PURPOSE OTHER THAN WHAT IT
WAS INTENDED FOR..

WITH A LITTLE PAINT AND
SOME NICKEL HARDWARE
ADDED TO THE FRONT TO
HOLD COATS AND HATS AND WHATEVER
YOU WANT TO HANG ON IT, THIS
IS WHAT I ENDED UP WITH.

AFTER...

I HUNG IT IN MY ENTRY WAY AND
IM GLAD IT MATCHED WITH THE
SAME FEELING AS THE PIECES I
ALREADY HAD HANGING UP.

IF YOU LOOK CLOSE YOU'LL
NOTICE THE LITTLE HEARTS IN
THE CARVING WHICH I THOUGHT WAS
SUPER CUTE AND DIDN'T
NOTICE UNTIL I WAS WORKING WITH THE PIECE...

I LOVE HOW IT TURNED OUT!
I HOPE YOU LIKE IT TOO.

  4. Nice job. I was expecting to see the hooks down on the flap board but you surprised me. That turned out great.

  7. What an interesting use for an antique headboard! Most people wouldn't think to turn it into a coat rack, but the idea worked out wonderfully!
